22 years ago in a small upstate NY town, I set out with my good buddy Steve to stir up some Halloween mischief. We were 13, and considered ourselves too cool for costumes. Instead we dressed in black and armed ourselves with eggs, shaving cream, and toilet paper. Along the way we met up with a group of guys that Steve knew. One in particular made me suspicious when he called Steve aside and spoke quietly to him while glancing in my direction. Since I was the only girl in the group, I concluded that he was trying to convince Steve to ditch me. I immediately labeled him "jerk" and glowered at him the rest of the evening.
As it turned out, he was asking Steve if I was his girlfriend, and when Steve said "No," Jerk said "Good, because she's going to be mine." A few weeks after that Halloween in 1984, we started dating. I found out that he was not a jerk at all, but instead a pretty amazing guy. Lots of togetherness and apartness ensued thereafter, with plenty of teenaged drama. After 13 years we realized that we were meant for eachother and got married. That amazing guy turned into an amazing man, and Halloween and the number 13 turned out to be lucky. At least for me they are.
So Happy Halloween everyone. Parents of teenage girls (yeah, I'm talking to you Bets) keep in mind that the guy your daughter is dating, who you think is just a phase, may be a son-in-law someday. How's THAT for a scary Halloween story? He he he.
In Jack news, he's dressing as the red member of the Lollipop Guild. Pictures to follow, of course ;)

Scary indeed! But it worked out for you, so who knows?!?
Happy Anniversary to you and the Jer-whoops, I mean Mikey. ;-)
Can't wait for the pictures, hurry up, will ya?
I don't have to worry about dating; C's headed for the convent.
I remember talking to your Mother in law many years ago and the next day after Michael met you he told his mother he had met the girl he was going to some day marry. Didn't know you were married to a psychic did you. Love ya and I agree with Sharon. Hurry up with those pictures. Mom
